Candle
What is the candle wax made of?
We use a mixture of 100% vegetable wax for different types of candles. The most common type of wax we use is soy wax, beeswax and coconut wax. We only use GMO-free, lead-free and toxin-free wax that are safe for children and pets.
What do I do if the candle starts tunneling?
Wrap the candle with aluminum foil and burn for at least 2-3 hours. If the problem still persists, you can use a hair-dryer to melt the wax at the sides.
What is the candle pot made of?
Cement, so that it's porous and breathable for the soil and seeds when it's repurposed as a planter
How do I clean out the wax from the pot?
Place the candle in the freezer for several hours or until it is frozen. The wax will contract, making it easy to scoop out the remaining wax with a spoon.
There's no hole at the bottom of the pot, do I need to drill one?
We chose cement to make our pots because it is more porous in nature making it less easy for the plant to be over-watered. However if you choose to drill a hole at the bottom, feel free to do so as that will be even better for the seeds!
Seed Paper
How should I store the seed paper while I use the candle?
The seed paper should be stored in room temperature, ideally a dry place. Avoid placing near the burning candle to prevent catching on fire.
How long does it take for the seeds to sprout?
It varies from country to country and season to season. But it should take about 2-3 weeks under the right conditions.
Should I use all of the seed paper in the pot?
No, in fact just half of the seed paper is enough! You can save the other half to plant in other pots or pass it to your friend to start her gardening journey!
What seeds are embedded in the seed paper?
We have selected Portulaca (Sun Rose) seeds, which typically germinate within 10 days when kept in moist conditions. The Portulaca symbolizes optimism, perseverance, and the pursuit of light - perfectly aligned with our brand philosophy!
Pellet
What is the soil made of?
The soil is made of cocopeat, a type of soil that include organic matter, a healthy mix that will help seeds grow! Thanks to our advanced compression technology, just 2 soil pellets are sufficient for planting.
Can I mix this soil with other types of soil?
Yes, in fact it'll be good to include a layer of well-aerated soil at the bottom of the pot before putting the cocopeat (aka compressed soil) to ensure well draining soil.
How much water do I add?
For each pellet, add about 3 tablespoons of water.
